I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, raised in a small town in North Carolina, and have lived all over the world, namely Bogota and Barranquilla, Colombia, Tryon and Durham North Carolina, Blandford Forum and London, England, Washington, New York, Boston, Paris, Geneva, Hong Kong, Seoul, and Tokyo. For the past 30 years I have lived in London. Photographs are the history of my travels, and together with writing, the way I make sense of the world. I have been doing this for a very long time and have travelled to 67 countries at last count.  The more I learn, the more ignorant I realise I am. The more colours I see, the more I realise that what we see is but a minor portion of the spectrum which the world has to offer us. In life as in art, there are no straight lines, only colours.
